Growing up, one discovery led to another—a raga to a film, a film to a novel, a novel to a poet—quietly shaping a personal world of meaning. But I didn’t want to keep these as private treasures; I wanted to share them, to hear what they meant to others, and to explore how art from the past continues to speak to us today. Not knowing where to have those conversations, I began IND.IGENOUS—first anonymously—simply writing what moved me. Gradually, a community came together, bringing their own stories and references. I came to see this wasn’t about nostalgia, but about creating a living space where the past and present connect, and where we can gather what moves us to build something new together.

IND.IGENOUS is a not-for-profit platform that attempts to foster a space dedicated to critical engagement with the arts born out of the Indian subcontinent. Via conversation, reflection, and community, it aims to explore the myriad stories behind every creation – what they mean today, and how they might shape the world.
